Ξαγρύπνα ἀσταμάτητα, γιὰ νὰ κρατᾶς τὴν πίστη, καὶ ξαγρύπνα ἀσταμάτητα ὥστε ὁ σπόρος τῆς ἀγάπης, τὸν ὁποῖο ἡ πίστη φέρνει μέσα της, νὰ αὐξηθεῖ καὶ νὰ σοὺ φέρει χαρά.
Ἐφόσον μόνη της ἡ πίστη χωρὶς τὴν ἀγάπη, θὰ παρέμενε κρύα καὶ ἄχαρη.
Ὅμως καὶ ὅταν μέσα σου κρυώσει ἡ ἀγάπη, καὶ δὲν αὐξηθεῖ καὶ δὲν φέρει καρπὸ χαρᾶς, κράτα τὴν πίστη καὶ περίμενε. Κράτα τὴν πίστη μὲ κάθε κόστος. Καὶ περίμενε, ἀκόμα καὶ χρόνια, μέχρι ἡ ἀγάπη νὰ φυτρώσει ἀπὸ τὴν πίστη.
Ἐὰν χάσεις τὴν ἀγάπη, θὰ ἔχεις χάσει πολλά, ὅμως ἐὰν χάσεις καὶ τὴν πίστη, τὰ ἔχασες ὅλα. Ἐὰν χάσεις τὴν ἀγάπη, θὰ χάσεις τὸν καρπὸ ἀπὸ τὸ δένδρο, ὅμως ἐὰν χάσεις τὴν πίστη, θὰ ἔχεις κόψει τὸ δένδρο.
