Two things can and must parents offer to their children: their love and example. The example may be accompanied by a good word (advice), but, for God's shake, not without a corresponding example.
For everything parents offer to their children are not entitled or may require any return, so clearly he cannot acquire rights over their child, because they're doing it just out of love and it's included in the way of all members of the family to the Kingdom of Heavens.
Nevertheless it is clear that in most cases, when children receive love and proper example, they return love to their parents and follow their example. There are of course some cases, that parents, allowing God, are tested through their children. In this case, parents must not resent against God or against their children, but try again with love, prayer and patience to make advantage out of this trial for the common good of all family members.
