Human Misery

Miserable you are, wherever you be, or wherever you turn, unless you turn to God.

Why are you troubled when things succeed not as you desire? Who is he who has all things according to his min ? (Eccles. 6:2).

Truly it is misery to live upon the earth (Job 19:1; Eccles, 2:17). The more a spiritual man desires to be, the more bitter does this present life become to him, because he perceives better and sees more clearly the defects of human corruption.

If you turn to God with faith and hope, then, although you still carry your cross, you are no longer miserable because He is, as he said , with you to help you and comfort you.
